Pretty d**n good sequel to Richard Donner's 1976 hit "The Omen" has Damien Thorn (Jonathon Scott-Taylor) now a teenager with a thick British accent going to military academy in the U.S.
He isn't aware that he's the anti-Christ just yet. But a few devil worshipers who surround him know the truth, including a young Lance Henriksen as an instructor at the academy.
Holden plays the brother of Damien's adopted father (who was killed in the first film). As Damien's guardian, he begins to suspect there's more to the boy than meets the eye, particularly when anyone who appears to get in the way of the teen's inevitable ascension to the head of Thorn Industries is killed off in a freak accident. One woman reporter has her eyes plucked out by a crow. A doctor who discovers that Damien's blood isn't human is cut in half at the waist.
Not as suspenseful as the first film, this first sequel is nonetheless stylish and entertaining. The highlight is Jerry Goldsmith's awe-inspiring score.
Definitely worth catching.
